Webmaster, Research Associate and Teaching Fellow - University of North Texas

  • Planned, designed, developed and implemented the Web site for the department of Technology & Cognition, covering four different program areas and more than 50 pages.
  • Worked with Technology & Cognition Web committee to clarify content for department Web pages and to develop an effective server structure for Web-based delivery of information.
  • Developed templates for the delivery of instructional materials via the Web.

Pre-doctoral Fellow - University of Texas Southwestern Medical School, Dallas, TX

1995 to 1997

  • Worked as a member of an NIH grant team, in the Department of Pathology, investigating strategies to reduce human error in the blood transfusion process through the creation of a national event reporting and analysis program for all hospitals and blood transfusion centers. As a grant team member I participated in:
    • Developing a Delphi Study process and analyzed the results for the initial phase.
    • Analyzing the results from three Nominal Group Meetings.
    • Developing and reviewing the User Guide.
    • Designing a computer-based system for collection and analysis of initial data.
  • Solely responsible for the design and implementation of the Medical Event Reporting System Web Site.

Research Associate - Texas Center for Educational Technology, Denton, TX

1991 to 1992

  • Designed and developed various software and multimedia applications in Macromind Director and HyperCard.
  • Developed interactive video prototypes using the Macintosh, HyperCard and Laser Disc technology.
  • Developed the interface for NECC InfoSystem, one of the first Hypermedia conference information systems, including multimedia mail. System acquired by Apple for distribution over AppleLink.
  • Part of a team that developed an NSF grant to use the Internet for teacher communication and mentoring.
  • Part of a team that developed a grant for a fiber-optic based, fully-interactive classroom of the future; award of $800,000 from the State of Texas.
  • Participated in the writing and presenting of workshops, papers, and booklets concerning educational technology training.

Information Developer - IBM, Irving, Texas

1986 to 1988

  • Performed as Information Development's Task Force Member for the OfficeVision initial prototype.
  • Wrote the initial Guidelines for OfficeVision On-line Information.
  • Functioned as Planner and co-team leader for all phases of the information development cycle encompassing design, testing and camera-ready copy for DisplayWrite 5/2.
  • Updated hard-copy information for DisplayWrite 5/2 from DisplayWrite 4/2 Reference Guide.
  • Developed, wrote and placed, within the source code, all the on-line information for DisplayWrite 4/2.
