Design Gallery : IBM OfficeVision Release 2 for OS/2

IBM OfficeVision® Release 2 for OS/2 was a suite of office productivity tools including: e-mail, address book, calendar, editor, and decision support application, all connected via a central OS/2 server. It was originally designed to run on OS/2 version 2 with IBM PS/2 computers.

My role on this project:

  • Member of a team that designed, prototyped and documented the user-interface for a cross-platform office suite using Neuron Data and HyperCard.
  • Assumed full responsibility for the design and coding of the interface using the Open Editor from Neuron Data and ensuring cross-platform consistency of the interface.
  • Authored four software interface patent applications and twenty-two interface design IBM Technical Reports.
  • Consulted with the graphics designer on icon design.
  • Responsible for usability for OfficeVision release 2 for OS/2.
  • Developed scenarios to test software ease of use.
  • Conducted usability tests.
  • Statistically analyzed usability test results and prepared test reports.
  • Presented summaries of test reports and recommended usability changes to upper-level management and software development.
